Oh, we spared you the up-close-and-personal shots of the kitchen. The rotten particle (sp?) board, the "special" way some of the cabinets opened, the genius matching of the fake wood pieces, etc. Did you see the jimmy-rig on the dishwasher?! Oh, and if you had the oven on, you couldn't use all the range eyes. It once took me 50 minutes to bake a couple chicken breasts. I tell you, if I could have spit on the pile of refuse that was our kitchen, I would have.

The old kitchen looked pretty nice... I get the wasted space part. Were the old cabinets cheap and flimsy? Were the fixtures dying inside?
